ARCKIT SELECTED FOR IRISH DESIGN 2015 HOMECOMING EVENT

Irish Design 2015 selects Arckit

Irish Design 2015 selects Arckit as one of the products from all of its international Liminal Exhibitions, to go on display at Dublin Castle in Ireland this November at an event opened by Irish President Michael D Higgens.

Liminal is a celebration of Irish design at the threshold, featuring many designers, companies and studios involved in collaborations across disciplines and presented for the first time at a series of international shows. We are incredibly excited and humbled to have been chosen as one of the select products from Irish Design 2015 Liminal series, to be displayed at a homecoming event in Dublin City in November.

This year, Irish Design hosted the Liminal Exhibition in New York, Milan, and most recently Eindhoven as part of their Dutch Design Week. We recently returned from the Eindhoven show, where we exhibited alongside other great products including MCOR 3D printers – the world’s only full-colour, paper-based 3D printers. It was a great show for exploring and celebrating Irish design in just about every form.

Throughout the show we gave visitors the opportunity to physically explore Arckit through interactive workshops and demonstrations. It was great to see everyone from budding young architects to design enthusiasts and even parents getting really absorbed in the process of hands-on design, physically exploring shapes and space in spontaneous and creative ways with our freeform architectural model system.

Liminal Eindhoven was launched by Ireland’s Minister of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Ged Nash TD. It was inspiring to see so much creativity and entrepreneurial thinking coming out of Ireland at the moment – and especially to see these ideas given an international platform through government initiatives such as Irish Design 2015 that aim to build on the reputation of Irish design around the world.

The exhibition returns to Ireland where it will go on display at The Design Hub in Dublin Castle from the 19th November for a number of months before moving on to Kilkenny.
