Want to see what a girl guide can build with arckit?
Remember how hard you had to work to earn just one badge when you were a Girl Guide or Scout? Well, you can imagine how many talented young Girl Guides with skills badges came to IGGNITE 2017 (International Camp of the Irish Girl Guides).
This was an inspiring group of very talented girls from across the world, united by the international organisation WAGGGS. There was such a vibrant mix of people, each influenced by different cultures and styles of architecture. We met young designers from Ireland, Canada, the Caribbean, Georgia and Malaysia, to name just a few, who all came to Rockwell College in Co. Tipperary, Ireland, for a week of educational workshops and fun.
We turned up to host a one-day workshop with over 200 bright and creative Girl Guides. We were so impressed with the creativity we saw throughout the day, it’s a real testament to the practical skills they learn through this amazing organisation. There is no doubt in our minds that there were several future architects and engineers gathered around the table that day. Take a look at some of the incredible, experimental models they created during their brief 40-minute sessions with no prior experience of model making or of using Arckit.
We’d like to say thank you to The Irish Girl Guides for inviting us to be part of IGGNITE2017 and to everyone who attended our workshops. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, and that it will be the first of many in the future!
