The Kingspan Tinyhome Challenge 2025 - Inspiring Young Minds Through Sustainable Design

It was a real honour for Arckit to be invited to sponsor the Kingspan Tinyhome Challenge 2025, an inspiring initiative that encourages young people to think creatively about sustainability, the environment, and the future of how we live.

The Moss House by Twan age 7 from Belgium,  7-13 Winner

House Under The Fallen Branch by Iga age 4 from Poland,  4-7 Second Prize

With hundreds of entries from around the world, this year’s challenge was a runaway success. The sheer quality, imagination, and thoughtfulness of the submissions made the judging process both exciting and incredibly difficult. For Arckit founder Damien and the other judges, what stood out most was not just the finished models, but the thinking behind them — a genuine awareness of environmental challenges and a desire to design better solutions for the future.

Elena's Lighthouse by Elena age 11 from Austria, 8-13 Winner

The Forrester KCT Club by Timo (12), Cato (10) and Kobe (8) from The Netherlands, 8-13 Second Prize

Building Skills for the Future

The Kingspan Tinyhome Challenge is about far more than building small structures. It’s about:

  • Encouraging creative confidence

  • Developing problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Introducing young people to concepts of architecture, engineering, and sustainable design

  • Showing that even small-scale ideas can have a big impact

At Arckit, we are proud to support initiatives that help nurture the next generation of designers, engineers, and innovators. Seeing young minds engage so thoughtfully with sustainability and the built environment reinforces just how important these opportunities are.

Solevia by Melody Mangin age 15 from Spain, 14-18 Winner

Congratulations to all the participants, educators, families, and organisers who made the Kingspan Tinyhome Challenge 2025 such a success — and of course to the winners across all age categories, your Arckit prizes are on their way. The creativity and environmental awareness on display give us great confidence in the future of sustainable design.
