Arckit Proudly Available at the Qatar National Museum
The National Museum of Qatar, designed by iconic French architect Jean Nouvel, is being inaugurated on 28 March 2019 by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Located on Qatar's restored historic palace, it traces Qatar's history from 700 million years ago up to the present. Nouvel, who also designed the Louvre Abu Dhabi, drew inspiration from the crystalline forms that emerge in the desert as the basis for his design with curved discs, intersections and cantilevered angles. Located on a 1.5 million ft² site at the south end of Doha's Corniche, the NMoQ building will rise from the sea and will be connected to shore by two pedestrian bridges and a vehicular bridge.
The 40,000 sq. metres (430,000 sq feet) space provides 8,000 sq. metres of permanent and 2,000 sq. metres of temporary gallery space. It also includes a 115,000 sq.m park with an artificial lagoon, parking for 400 vehicles, a research centre, a dedicated food forum, restaurants and a new museum shop where Arckit is proudly available together with host of other high-quality gifts and souvenirs.
