ARCKIT IN WIRED MAGAZINE

Wired Magazine contacted us last month to run a feature on Arckit

We are very excited that Wired Magazine contacted us last month to run a feature on Arckit and other architectural scaled model sets. Their focus was on model systems that are designed to inspire the next generation of architects, builders and engineers – and, with so much hype in education, Arckit certainly ticked the boxes.

Although most model sets claim to be both inspirational and education, Arckit stands alone because it is a professional design tool for architects that uses zero glue, so it can be used to make unlimited structures. It’s also modular and offers individual component packs – so the only limit is your imagination, not a set of instructions.

Adding to this versatility is Arckit’s scale, which is practical for professional architectural design and is also compatible with your favourite models such as figurines, vehicles and furniture. Completed structures can even be finished with real textures and building material patterns such as brick, shingle, aluminium and tiles.

However, the most remarkable benefit of Arckit is that it bridges the gap between traditional model building and 3D model design. Arckit users can recreate their physical models using SketchUp versions of Arckit components, which helps to explore design possibilities physically as well as visually on screen.

Many schools and universities already understand this and have made Arckit part of their design curriculum – so is Arckit primed to be the next big thing for inspiring the next generation of architects, builders and engineers? It’s already happening.
